Art Panels World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, and Eve Online

Art panel video presentations for World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 and Eve Online.

First presentation from the some of the Blizzard art team. Run time 1 hour 7 min. I’ve only just found these videos. I really like the art style from the Blizzard team.

A presentation for Guild Wars 2. A game that a few of my friends won’t stop talking about. Run time 1 hour 16 min.

And finally Eve Online. The newest video of the three. Run time 40 min.

Cherry Blossom Tree

Work in progress of a cherry blossom tree. Intended to eventually be put onto my small procedural planet with a small planet ecosystem.

small procedural planet

Was just doodling in Modo and this is what I can up with in about 5 min. Thought it looked neat enough to share.

Two quadball spheres, land sphere with ridged procedural and water with transparency amount, refraction index and refraction roughness adjusted.

volumetric clouds in Modo

I’ve done research on how to create fairly realistic clouds with Modo’s new volumetric item. Here is an image that represents a few things. The clouds are referenced from a site that says cumulus clouds are an average of 2,500 feet off the ground and these specific clouds are about a half a mile deep and wide and about a mile tall.

The top tappers off in size using a gradient in the first image, the rest are particle clouds.

Mirroring in Modo CG Tips #01

A first in hopefully a series specifically focused on work efficiency in Modo as opposed to how to model specific objects.

Mirroring tips video for off axis objects, for anyone that might find it useful. Using action center element and stretch to mirror any object at any orientation, most of the time.

How to model a tennis ball in Modo

In this video I basically talk about how to model the stripe into a tennis ball and how to get rid of the poles at the top and bottom of the sphere. I go over how to use action center/ center element to get the results. Unscripted in real time, so there’s lots of mistakes.

The first video of hopefully a video tutorial series on how to model objects.

Goblin

A goblin head sculpt started in Sculptris, a free program by Pixologic, makers of Zbrush.  Concept referenced from The Fantasy Artist’s Figure Drawing Bible by Matt Dixon, amazing character artist.

I may come back to this after I finally finish my car and give him a body, armor, clothes ect.

Thanks for looking,
Eric

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003

This post is always getting updated with more photos, so check the last photos on the list.

This is my model of a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, referenced from 2 Fast 2 Furious.  Still have to finish up the interior and a few other things  likely won’t be 100% accurate.

I have some videos posted of some of the pieces on you youtube channel:

Rigging in Modo

The Third Guild has put out a very informational video by Matt Cox on rigging in Modo.  It’s the first of a series covering parenting and constraints on a tricycle.

This second video demonstrates a character rig in Modo put together by Matt.  Although I don’t think Modo 501 has IK chains longer than 3 items, this character rig looks really good.  It has all the controls you could ever want; knee pointers, eye pointers, FK/IK blending, foot roll controlls that control everything,  and they are laid out nice.

Check out Matt’s blog for more videos and information.
