A first in hopefully a series specifically focused on work efficiency in Modo as opposed to how to model specific objects.
Mirroring tips video for off axis objects, for anyone that might find it useful. Using action center element and stretch to mirror any object at any orientation, most of the time.
In this video I basically talk about how to model the stripe into a tennis ball and how to get rid of the poles at the top and bottom of the sphere. I go over how to use action center/ center element to get the results. Unscripted in real time, so there’s lots of mistakes.
The first video of hopefully a video tutorial series on how to model objects.
The Third Guild has put out a very informational video by Matt Cox on rigging in Modo. It’s the first of a series covering parenting and constraints on a tricycle.
This second video demonstrates a character rig in Modo put together by Matt. Although I don’t think Modo 501 has IK chains longer than 3 items, this character rig looks really good. It has all the controls you could ever want; knee pointers, eye pointers, FK/IK blending, foot roll controlls that control everything, and they are laid out nice.
Check out Matt’s blog for more videos and information.
